Costa Rica's Legislative Assembly is considering Bill 22.034, which was presented on 15 June 2020 and provides for an increase in tax rates to fund efforts to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. For corporate income tax, the bill includes a 35% tax rate for legal entities with annual net income equal to or exceeding CRC 1 billion, which is a 5% increase.
