On 1 February 2019, Cape Verde's National Assembly approved for ratification the pending income tax treaty with Spain. The treaty, signed 5 June 2017 ({News-2018-09-26/T/2-previous coverage}), is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force three months after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will generally apply from the date of its entry into force.
