Following the first cabinet meeting after the summer recess, the State Secretary for Finance announced that the government plans to go ahead with the abolition of the dividend withholding tax, despite revised negative forecasts of the budgetary cost the measure would entail. The abolition of the dividend withholding tax is planned to go into effect on 1 January 2020, but will be included in the 2019 budget which is to be presented to Parliament on 18 September 2018.
