The British Virgin Islands' Mutual Legal Assistance (Tax Matters) (Amendment) Act, 2018 reportedly entered into force on 18 September 2018. The Act amends the Mutual Legal Assistance (Tax Matters) Act, 2003 in relation to the exchange of financial account information under the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the exchange of Country-by-Country (CbC) reports. With respect to CRS, the amendments set out the information collection and reporting obligations for financial institutions in the British Virgin Islands.
