According to a release from Suriname's Ministry of Finance, officials from Barbados and Suriname recently met to discuss ways to further develop bilateral relations, including through negotiation and signing of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
