Bahrain's Nation Bureau of Revenue has announced that VAT registration is open for entities and individuals generating, or expected to generate, between BHD 18,750 and BHD 500,000 in annual VATable supplies. Bahrain's VAT registration threshold is reduced from BHD 500,000 to BHD 37,500 from 1 January 2020, with businesses exceeding the threshold to be registered by 20 December 2019. For businesses generating over BHD 18,750 in annual supplies, registration is voluntary.
