The Australian government has launched a public consultation on proposed reforms of the country's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime. This includes reforms that will simplify and modernize the operation of the regime and extend transaction reporting requirements to certain high-risk professions, including lawyers, accountants, trust and company service providers, real estate agents, and dealers in precious metals and stones.
