Aruba has repealed the San Nicolas special zone tax regime effective 1 February 2018. The regime provides various tax benefits for qualifying companies, including beneficial tax rates, dividends withholding tax exemption, reduced property tax, and others. The regime is repealed as a result of Aruba's commitments in relation to its exclusion from the EU's list of non-cooperative jurisdictions in taxation matters. Companies already qualified for the regime prior to 1 February are grandfathered until 31 December 2020.
