The Aruba Government issued a release on 8 August 2022 announcing that the planned introduction of a VAT system has been postponed. The VAT system was previously planned for 2023 and would replace several current indirect taxes, including the business turnover tax (BBO), health tax (BAZV), and additional funding tax for public private partnership projects (BAVP). In addition to postponing the VAT system, the government is also planning to increase the BBO by 1.0% to 1.5%.
