Aruba's Tax Department has issued an official notification on the recent introduction of a crisis levy effective 1 July 2018 that is charged in addition to the business turnover tax (BBO) and the health tax (BAZV). The crisis levy, known as the PPP projects additional funding tax (Belasting additionele voorzieningen PPS-projecten - BAVP), is charged on a similar tax base as the BBO and BAZV at a rate of 1.5%, resulting in total turnover taxes of 6%.
