On 29 December 2020, Argentina's Chamber of Deputies (lower house of Congress) approved the ratification of the pending income and capital tax treaty with Qatar. The treaty, signed 19 April 2018, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
