Apple has reached an agreement with the French tax administration that reportedly includes the tech company paying nearly EUR 500 million to settle back taxes for a 10-year period. The agreement was reached at the end of December 2018 and concludes a multi-year audit of the company's French accounts. Apple has confirmed that the agreement was reached, although not the amount, and has stated that "We know the important role tax payments play in society and we pay all that we owe according to tax laws and local customs wherever we operate."
