On 19 December 2012, the Ireland - Panama Income Tax Treaty (2011) entered into force. The treaty generally applies for Ireland from 1 January 2013 and it applies for Panama from 1 January 2013 for withholding, income and other taxes and from 1 January 2009 for the exchange of information.
