The income tax treaty and protocol between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, signed on 31 January 2006, entered into force on 1 July 2007. The treaty generally applies in Malaysia from 1 January 2008 for income/withholding taxes and 1 January 2009 for petroleum income tax, for Saudi Arabia from 1 January 2008.
