France ratified the income tax treaty and protocol between France and Australia, signed on 20 June 2006. The ratification law was published in the Official Journal No. 49 of 27 February 2009. Once in force and effective the new treaty will replace the France-Australia income tax treaty of 19 April 1976, as amended by the 1989 protocol.
