On 19 August 2011, the government approved Royal Decree-Law 9/2011 of 19 August 2011, introducing new measures to reduce the public deficit. The Decree-Law was published in the Official Gazette of 20 August 2011 and generally comes into effect on the day after its publication. The tax amendments adopted are summarized below.
