According to a release from the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Australia and Latvia met on 8 August 2022 to discuss bilateral relations, including planned negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
