On 14 March 2023, the Swiss Council of States (upper house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Albania. The agreement, signed 18 February 2022, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the third month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
