On 6 December 2021, the Swiss Council of States (upper house of parliament) approved the ratification of the pending social security agreement with Tunisia. The agreement, signed 25 March 2019, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force on the first day of the third month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
