On 30 October 2014, Spain's Congress approved a law allowing news publishers to charge online news aggregation systems (like Google News) every time a link and a meaningful description of a publisher's news article is posted. Spain will then tax those revenues. The charge and tax would not apply to news articles published by individual users sharing on social media.
