On 30 July 2014, the South African National Assembly passed the law ratifying the pending protocol to the 2005 income tax treaty with Turkey. The protocol was signed 25 December 2013, and brings the article on exchange of information in line with OECD standards.

The protocol will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
