As part of efforts to promote tourism, the Slovak National Council (parliament) approved the draft law for the addition of accommodation services within the scope of the 10% reduced value added tax (VAT) rate on 23 October 2018. Subject to being signed into law by the president, the application of the reduced rate for accommodation services is effective from 1 January 2019.
