On 19 October 2020, officials from India and Oman met via videoconference to discuss bilateral cooperation, investment, and trade, and agreed to expedite the signing of an amending protocol to the 1997 tax treaty between the two countries. The protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
