On 22 and 23 October 2019, officials from Italy and Uzbekistan held meetings to discuss bilateral issues and reportedly agreed on the need to conclude negotiations for an amending protocol to the 2000 income and capital tax treaty between the two countries. The protocol would be the first to amend the treaty and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
