The European Commission announced on 9 April 2025 that its proposal to impose trade countermeasures against the U.S. has been approved by the EU Member States. The following day it was announced that the countermeasures would be suspended for 90 days considering U.S. President Trump's 90-day suspension of higher reciprocal tariffs.
