According to a release from Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Ethiopia and Kyrgyzstan met on 16 January 2025 to discuss bilateral cooperation, including the signing of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
