On 29 January 2018, El Salvador's Ministry of Finance announced an extension of the tax amnesty program introduced 27 October 2017. The program, which provides relief from interest, surcharges, or penalties, was to apply for a period of 90 days, but has now been extended to 15 March 2018 ({News-2017-11-13/A/3-previous coverage}).
