According to recent reports, the Belarusian government is seeking negotiations with the U.S. for a new income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty will need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, would replace the 1973 tax treaty between the U.S. and the former Soviet Union as it applies in respect of Belarus.
