Officials from Bangladesh and Somalia met on 17 November 2021 to discuss bilateral cooperation in various areas, with Bangladesh proposing the negotiation and signing of an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
